Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing or using CalScan ("the App", "we", "our", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. The Service

CalScan is an AI-powered nutrition tracking app that estimates the calories and macronutrients of food from photos and text, and provides related insights, coaching and reports. Nutritional values are estimates and may not be exact.

3. Subscriptions, Billing & Free Trials

• Plans. CalScan Pro is offered on monthly, 6-month and yearly plans. Prices are shown in the App before you purchase and may vary by region and currency.
• Free trial. If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid plan and the applicable price is charged.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from Profile → Manage Subscription. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Consumers in some regions (e.g. the EU/UK) may have statutory cancellation rights.
• Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App, including: reverse-engineering it, using it unlawfully, attempting to disrupt or overload our systems, or submitting content you have no right to submit. We may suspend access for violations.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, its content and branding are owned by CalScan and protected by law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

6. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of nutritional estimates, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalScan is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any decisions made based on the App's estimates or content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or where required for legal or security reasons.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of CalScan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
